Description

Brookside Care Center is a nationally top-ranked skilled care facility providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term care for Kenosha County residents. With their top ranking came an ever-growing demand for additional capacity and expanded services for county residents and the need for expansion and improvements of the facility. Camosy was selected in March 2015 by Kenosha County as the Construction Manager at Risk for the Brookside Care Center Additions and Renovation project after a Quality Based Selection (QBS) process. The project includes almost 61,000 square feet of new additions and extensive renovations of more than 70,000 square feet of the existing facility.

Services Provided

Camosy provided complete Construction Management at Risk services, including all Pre-Construction Phase services. Camosy also provided all Construction Phase Project Management and Field Supervision of the work. Camosy also self-performed concrete, carpentry, selective demolition, and all general conditions work on the project. During the Pre-Construction Phase, Camosy worked with the Owner and Architect to develop a Phased Construction plan to construct the new residents’ living areas first while keeping all existing facilities fully operational, thereby allowing residents to be relocated to the new facilities before the start of the renovation work on existing areas. This approach was described graphically with a color-coded Phasing Plan that was included in the bidding documents to ensure all bidders understood the requirements for the sequence of work before construction.
