Project Description

The Village of Palatine Village Hall operates out of a building originally constructed as a High School and converted to use as the Village Hall. The facility is shared between the Palatine Park District and the Village with Village operations utilizing approximately 52,000 square feet of space. The Village of Palatine selected Camosy as their Construction Manager for the proposed renovation of the Village Hall portion of the building after Camosy had successfully completed the new Palatine Police Station project in 2012. The project includes the complete demolition of the entire 52,000 sf building interior including the HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, leaving only the structural frame.  Some older portions of the original school construction were removed completely as part of this project and a few small additions to create new entry points and other spaces are part of the work. The entire 52,000 sf is completely renovated with new energy efficient mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems installed and the entire exterior of the building is “re-skinned” with new brick, windows, and metal clad panels to give the building a new modern look while taking advantage of the existing structural system. A complete new configuration for all the Village offices improves efficiencies and creates a more user friendly space for the public. Among the highlights of the design are a new Council Chambers, a new two story entry space with clerestory windows to bring natural light deep into the building, and public services counters organized to simplify the way residents interact with Village staff. This project will provide many years of productive service for the Village of Palatine.
